Congratulations to our January Student of the Month! Lindsey B.!

Any 7th grader interested in trying out for MJHS Cheerleader should sign up in the front office. See Mrs. Suttle in room 23 for your information packet.

Any 8th grader interested in trying out for MHS JV Cheerleader should sign up and pick up an information packet in the front office.

Any student who played basketball this year needs to wash and bring both uniforms back to Coach B. Etheredge as soon as possible.

Band auxiliary (color guard, majorette, and dance line) tryout dates are coming up. All students wishing to be candidates must attend the mandatory interest meeting with a parent or guardian on Thursday, January 29 at 6:30pm in the band room, pay a non-refundable $50 per person tryout fee to the Moody Band Boosters, submit an official Alabama High School Athletic Association Physical less than one year old, cleared and signed by a physician, and have medical release and prescriber authorization forms on file in the band room before clinics begin. Blank forms will be available in the band room at the mandatory meeting. Candidates also must meet all requirements outlined in the Moody Auxiliary Handbook/Constitution before clinics begin. Clinics and tryouts are closed to spectators. Students must make the color guard squad before continuing to dance or majorette clinics and tryouts. Please RSVP to Dr. Sargent at brad.sargent@sccboe.org to indicate your intention to try out, or to respond with any questions.

Spring Training Volleyball Tryouts will be held on 2/2, 2/3, and 2/5 at 6pm in the gym for 7th graders; 2/3, 2/5, and 2/9 at 6pm in the gym for 8th graders. Sign up with Coach Terry Etheredge. Questions should be directed to Coach Greaux at raphael.greaux@scccob.org

Diamond Dolls are taking orders for their Krispy Kreme Donut Sale to benefit the jr. high baseball team. A box of 1 dozen glazed donuts is $6. Please see Mrs. Franklin or any Diamond Doll to place your order.

Congratulations to the following students for winning positions in the Alabama All-State Band and All-District Band in auditions this past Saturday. The district all-state winners will now advance to state level auditions in Mobile in April: Travis Q., Henry S., and Gracie W.

MHS will bus kids to Hewitt-Trussville High School to complete these. The cost is $10 and checks should be made payable to Moody High School. Required paperwork must be obtained beforehand from your coach, Ms. Hanline at MHS, the front office, or you may find it here: Physical paperwork . Paperwork and money are due by Friday, January 23.

MONTHLY REMINDERS

  • Character Education for the month of January is Goals.
  • The MJHS Library collects Campbell’s labels, all kinds of printer ink cartridges and old cell phones to raise money for technology.
  • Lunch money – You may pay your child’s lunch money on the St. Clair County website: http://www.stclaircountyschools.net/
  • All car riders must be dropped off and picked up at MHS.
  • If a student is tardy, a parent MUST come into the school office check him/her in.
